Genre: Adult, contemporary romance, erotica. With his conversational wit, Nye both counters classic creationist tactics-such as the appeal to the Second Law of Thermodynamics and the idea of the uselessness of half a wing-and explains evolutionary concepts such as punctuated equilibrium, bottlenecking, the theory of the Red Queen, and “good-enough design.” Connections to fields like geochemistry and oceanography support his stance that “the natural world is a package deal you don’t get to select which facts you like and which you don’t.” Nye takes advantage of his soapbox to address hot-button issues like vaccines and antibiotics, genetically modified foods, and cloning (perhaps overstepping when he dives into the psycho-evolutionary basis of evolution denial). I loved their story and how fiercely independent Chase was at not needing someone to protect her, yet Chase didnt necessarly want to protect her for her disability he wanted to protect her because he loved her, it just took her a while to realise that.“The Science Guy” jumps off from and expands the arguments from his public debate with creationist Ken Ham, positing that to deny the reality of evolution is tantamount to denying science as a whole, ignoring the advances in medicine and agriculture that make modern human life possible, and destroying our children’s future by leaving them ill-equipped to understand the world. One thing she isn’t good at is relationships, and try as she might she can’t get Caden to take the hint that she isn’t interested seeing as he will be heading back to Australia soon. According to Chase she is defective as she is deaf – she is amazing at lip reading, and signing and generally I think she would she be an amazing best friend. This book is about Deuces daughter Danny and Ripper and how they fall in love and of course it has the yummy angst that I love. I loved Chase in the last book and was so excited to read that this one was going to be about her. In Undeniable we have Chase (Amanda from Unforgettable’s sister) and Caden’s story. Undeniable is book 3 in the Always series, but it can be read as a stand alone quite easily.
